Norwegian Banedrift

becomes part of the Aarsleff Rail Group

2017.10.31
Per Aarsleff Holding A/S has with effect from November 1 2017 acquired all shares in the Norwegian company Banedrift AS from the former owners Atle Eriksen and Frank Melby.

With the acquisition, the Aarsleff Rail group takes another step into the Norwegian market and secures competencies in track work, drainage, vegetation clearing, winter preparedness, fibre cabling and cable routing. The acquisition provides a good platform in the Norwegian market, where a significant increase in railway investments is planned in the coming years until 2029. The acquisition supports the Aarsleff Rail group's growth strategy in the Scandinavian countries.

Banedrift AS continues to operate under its own name with all current projects and activities and with Atle Eriksen as managing director. All employees will also continue in their employment. In addition, the organization is reinforced with Atle Larsen as Supply and Marketing Manager and Geir Erbo Rougthvedt as Senior Project Manager.

Banedrift AS is formally owned by Per Aarsleff Holding A/S, but refers to and is part of the Aarsleff Rail group's combined activities. As a result of the acquisition, Aarsleff Rail Norge AS will be closed and the activities transferred to Banedrift AS.

Banedrift AS has offices in Rolvsøy at Frederiksstad, 32 employees and had a turnover of 71 million NOK in the last fiscal year. More information about Banedrift AS can be found on the company's website www.banedrift.no
